2″ Thick Live Edge Walnut Plaque
CNCROi.com has done lots of live edge wood work, today we are doing something especially big and novel, a 2″ thick live edge walnut plaque that’s over 50 pounds alone!
Although for this project we could have finished the board and applied the protective finish, the customer wishes to do this themselves, after the custom CNC laser engraving of the live edge walnut plaque, it’s just about a day of sanding and finishing being required.
Before we start, it’s good to send a reference picture so the customer knows where the work will appear as this is a one-way road, we can’t erase our work!

In order to produce a nice rich dark engraving result, I prefer to take time and slow down the entire production process, this means higher DPI than generally required and using multiple passes.
