Corporate Corian Sign: Laser Engraved and Paint Filled

This custom corporate Corian sign starts off as a piece of Corian, in this case, our customer gave us this piece and we made the design for it.
Laser engraving Corian is a slow but very precise and consistent end result wise, this is a pretty big sign and so, it took the better part of a day just for the laser engraving process.
The corporate Corian sign will be cut out by our customer and paint filled, they provided us with the Corian they wanted us to use, so in this case, CNCROi.com is just part of the overall cog but we could have easily done everything start to finish in our shop as well.

Corian is essentially compressed acrylic that, with heat, forms a solid sheet of incredible durability and resistance to the elements, it’s also very heavy.
In this case here, our customer wanted extra depth, as a result, two passes were performed with our industrial laser, we’ve found doing multiple passes over just one that’s incredibly strong, produces a more consistent depth profile.
The corporate Corian sign is already looking amazing, you can see the depth very clearly in these photos and it will only get more as the laser works its way through this sheet of solid Corian.

After the entire sign is done being engraved, we do a cut line for our customer’s bandsaw, he’s a good friend of mine and wanted to finish this corporate Corian sign on his own which is totally fine.
This isn’t a little corporate Corian sign either, you can see how it fills-up most of our bed!
The engraving of the Corian is now complete, you can see all the Corian dust all around the sign and it’s also over the entire surface of the corporate Corian sign, you just can’t see it very well as the color is the same as the sign.
After a few weeks, my friend paint filled it and stuck it in their custom mill working shop, it looks great!
It’s always hard to photograph things properly in a wood shop, but in real life, it looks like a cross between the top and the bottom, as the brass paint they used has a very nice “shine” to it.
