CNCROi.com has made lots of custom welding tags, generally out of 304 stainless steel and anodized aluminium (various colors).
What makes us unique when it comes to metal is the flexibility we offer you across these two materials, we can anneal stainless steel with our fiber laser and/or engrave anodized aluminium onto custom shapes to your specs. My cousin runs a custom welding and metal fabrication shop and here’s an example of some of what we’ve made for him.
and just to show even more diversity of our offerings…
and even iron metal plate!
Onto anodized aluminium as per this blog post is about!
We’ll focus on anodized aluminium, this is a standard welding tag we have in stock. In this case it’s black for the best contrast but it can be any color you want and any shape and even thicker if you desired it.
The resolution we get on this custom welding tag is over a thousand DPI but generally, we engrave it at 600 DPI as the eye really can’t notice the difference even on the most complex of logos.
Custom welding tags are also produced on-demand so if you wanted each one we made for you to have a unique QR code, alpha-numeric or anything else, it’s no problem. We run our system through a database as well so even if you had thousands of these with unique specs, it’s not an issue for us.
You can see the incredible clarity we achieve for this custom welding tag on anodized aluminium, the two holes (or more or less) can be anywhere you want, the shape to your spec and the information on the tag unique per tag as well.
In this case, this black anodized aluminium custom welding tag is 0.02″ or roughly 1 mm thick but if you wanted something thicker, different color, different shape, just let us know. Minimum quantities may come in effect though as the process by which these are made isn’t as on-demand as our system. Stamping needs molds, laser cutting needs volume to make economic sense.
How much can we make using anodized aluminium, here’s another video of a recent project to show you the incredible diversity we offer.
Now, onto 304 stainless steel custom welding tags. This is the same shape and size as the anodized aluminium custom welding tag above so we have a direct comparison between the two.
Unlike anodized aluminium, 304 stainless steel custom welding tag is annealed instead of engraved. Nothing is added or removed, it turns black due to a heat treatment process. As such, there is nothing to fade, crack or peel off even in the harshest of environments as it’s all metal from the same source.
It’s almost like magic but whatever the fiber laser sources touches turns black under the heat, this allows us incredible precision and clarity for these custom welding tags out of stainless steel. It’s essentially the same process with the anodized aluminium custom welding tag except this is way slower.
Our Austrian industrial wide-format CNC laser has incredible capacity for custom welding tags as well, we are capable of huge production runs in the tens of thousands on-demand and realtime so regardless of the quantity, a few dozen to thousands, CNCROi.com can help you out!
Many of our 304 stainless steel custom welding tags actually have no holes. Why? Because our clients like to weld them directly to their work! That’s another huge advantage that we offer you because you want a tag that will last and allow you to tack weld to your client projects as well!
The process of annealing a custom welding tag is the same regardless of volume, shape or size. You contact us and tell us how many you want, what is your ideal shape (send CAD if you wish) and what information you want on it. We then tell you the price and move forward with the custom welding tag.
We also keep a lot of different sizes in stock as sometimes, our clients just need a few to hold them over until something custom is produced so it comes in handy to be able to help our customers when emergencies come about and then solve their custom welding tag issues long-term right afterwards.
The custom welding tags we produced are endlessly flexible, they will not peel, crack, fade or wear out so doing a big production run to last you a few years isn’t an issue. If you are familiar with metals, you can instantly see the value that CNCROi.com offers your welding business!
Comparing the same design across both the anodized aluminium and 304 stainless steel, both roughly the same thickness, identical design, you can see what fits best with your welding business.
Additionally, we also do a lot of mix and match, meaning custom production runs of anodized aluminium mixed-in with stainless steel either across departments or batch orders between a few independent artists who add welding to their creations. And that includes brass plated valve tags too!
With CNCROi.com, your options are flexible across whatever fits your business.
