Laser Marking, Annealing and Engraving Metals
I often get asked what kinds of metals we can mark, anneal or engrave with our CNC laser and the simple answer is that I have yet to find a metal that we can’t do something with!
The nice thing about laser marking, annealing or engraving metal is that our process introduces no damage to the component, there are no burrs produced that require expensive and timely secondary processing.
We imported the only machine of its kind in Canada that has both a fiber and a CO2 laser source which means our process is incredibly efficient and clean as we aren’t stuck using only a CO2 laser with ceramic paste to mark metal, we just use our fiber laser source in one step.
What kinds of metals work best with lasers? Aluminum, titanium, zinc, steel, carbide, coated metals, gold, platinum, silver, eloxal, brass, cobalt, chrome, copper, stainless steel and the list goes on. We’ve also marked very highly specialized and exotic metals with magnificent results!
Even deep scratches won’t remove this annealing!
