Acrylic Business Cards etc…
I like making samples to show people the possibilities that CNCROi.com offers their company, big or small, I have yet to find an application that could not use some serious CNC ROi!
Transparent acrylic is tough to photograph, the letters are all very clear in person. Don’t mind the refraction and image compression!
The reason why I tend to make my samples based off my business cards are simple, they fit in my pocket, people are comfortable with the size and most importantly, it opens the door to questions relating to volume. Nobody gets only ONE business card made, they get hundreds or in my case, thousands!
What I especially like about Acrylic is how easy a material it is to work with, something I never knew about until I worked with lasers in Australia during my two-year stint there. I was designing projects for them way before then, back in 2008 over at CNCKing.com.
I forgot to make a video of this card being made so I’ll make a bunch shortly so you can see this first hand. One of the cool things I like about Acrylic is that results can be played with using either my Trotec Speedy 400 flexx CO2 or Fiber tube.
Acrylic also comes in endless color, texture, transparencies and thicknesses to suit just about any application. It’s a malleable material that can also be formed into different shapes using heat and fully recyclable. It does have drawbacks like any other material but my expertise here at CNCROi.com is to help you navigate the endless material and laser settings to find the perfect choice for your specific application.
