Annealed Laser Cut 304 Stainless Steel Business Cards

Now that the CNCROi.com shop is fully powered, I had a bit of fun annealing my own business cards out of 304 Stainless Steel which were themselves cut with a 4 kw CO2 laser with nitrogen to my specs. I figure I might as well take the opportunity as well to illustrate what the difference is between annealing and marking metal.

The picture below is annealed, the darkness is perfectly black and it was done using the Fiber source on my Trotec Speedy 400 flexx – the results are fantastic (some fine point font are hard to see due to online image compression). This is a card I’ll be showing to people at networking events as I’ve had quite a bit of interest in this but up until now, no samples to show. What makes this all the more impressive is that I didn’t have to use any Cermark to achieve these results – the fiber did it all on its own!

I’ve already done a few of these for other people, there are a lot of companies looking for that extra-unique card to give to their elite clients and now CNCROi.com can offer this to you across North America and the world. We can of course cut the metal (any kind) to your exact specs from titanium to iron and if you wanted (had the budget for it), we could cut out some fonts or logos in the card or tag itself then anneal it – the possibilities are endless.

Do keep in mind that this is steel and it does scratch – but the marking on these cards is permanent on the surface – you’d have a very tough time scratching this off especially now that the carbon has surfaced and it’s tempered steel where you see the black.
