The ripping you see along the edge is only the protective masking on the surface of both sides of this big polycarbonate part, there is no ripping as the edge quality is perfect for the polycarbonate itself.
As CNCROi.com used our full sheet CNC router, we had to hold the part down during production, that’s what those little custom Corian pieces you see along the edges are for.
They work wonderfully and having access to more than one CNC machine allows us to optimize polycarbonate production to suit both the huge and the small-scale.
Polycarbonate is also used by CNCROi.com extensively for custom stencils, it holds its shape, can be rolled-up when not in use and you can see through it while you are painting which really helps big time for proper alignment.

The edge quality from our CNC router is very good too, with the laser, it’s a pitch grippy black while with our CNC router, it’s more of a sanded texture.
There are small tabs which you can see along the outer perimeter of big polycarbonate parts to hold it in place during production, this is just sanded down after the fact, it makes sure that nothing moves.
