Between all the other stuff we do here at CNCROi.com, we’ve managed to build-up an e-commerce site with almost 100 products in record time. The goal isn’t to be the biggest e-commerce site nor the most diversified, just to provide yet another platform for customers to get a feel for what they can get done at their various budget points.
There is a lot of diversity there and by far the biggest product range is within the Trodat Self-Inking Rubber Stamps category, it looks a little messy right now but will be cleaned-up over time. From custom seals to mobile, printy and professional, there is a lot of choice when it comes to custom mass branding of products that’s now made available to you.
My goal with the e-commerce section of our site was to direct general inquiries so that the information that I need each and every time was easier to establish and order from. For instance, there are LOTS of stamping options and within that, ink pad choices, styles and shapes. Having an e-commerce version of that will save me lots of time and allow the customer to pick exactly what they want, how they want it.
We also produce lots of custom metal machine tags in both anodized aluminium in various colors and stainless steel, the route the customer takes depends on budget, volume and application. Having a page I can forward them to so they can select what they want also saves both parties a lot of time. The more efficient I can be and the better the customer experience, the better the overall experience purchasing will be.
Custom business cards are also an area where it’s basically the same process using different information repeated endlessly. Again, having a system that allows the customer to decide on material, budget and volume in one shot makes so much more sense. It takes less than a minute vs going back and forth by email.
There is still a lot of work going forward with this section of the site, I want to expand it to be easier to use and more diversified in product range but as we are a custom CNC shop, there are limits as to how much “generic” we can make as that’s a rather isolated customer segment that we service in that capacity.
For instance, we could easily produce a million variations of the same jewelry wording and still only scratch the surface of what’s possible, but at least for designers, they will gain an idea of what we need from them before going into production.
An area I’d like to really expand upon in the near future are all the 3D models I made over at CNCKing.com. I have included a few but there are hundreds of options to price out and work from. There are also lots of generic shapes too that we get lots of requests about that would be more efficient to sort out online.
