CNC Laser Millwork Applications
Had a potential mill work client give me a call the other day and they wanted to get more information regarding what applications CNC lasers could be used in regards to upsells to their client. To sum it up, the only limit there really exists is what you can think of so here’s a (alphabetical) listing of ideas where CNCROi.com CNC laser services can be integrated into your production cycle. These are just from the top of my head, I’m sure if I put more thought into it the list would grow exponentially larger!

Bathroom Vanities
We are able to laser etch the mirror itself, if it’s for a corporate client, have their logo on the bottom left or right or if it’s for a bar or restaurant, do something whimsical like a moustache or hat outline. For a family, maybe a permanent note saying “Wash Your Hands!” or silhouettes of your favorite animals.
Banquette / Benches
Whether your bench is a solid piece of timber or 304 stainless steel, we can engrave or anneal it with details about the company, seating positions or any other details to make it both useful and stand out. Many benches have vertical slats in them as well, we can laser engrave a graphic across all of them so people standing afar can see something cool that wouldn’t be noticeable if you were closer.
Bars
From CNC laser marked bar stools to cutlery with your website on them (so they don’t get stolen), we can help play a key role in completely customizing a space. To help bar tenders, we can laser etch in glasses and mugs the height of which something liquids must be served or laser engraving your plates with your logo or picture to fit in the theme of your establishment. We can also custom design things to stick in or on your walls, ceilings, mirrors etc.
Ceilings
Probably the most neglected area of the house, as long as it’s made of panels that we can remove and stick into our machine, it’s fair game! If you have wood beams, we can laser engrave them with anything you can think of, if they are steel beams, we can laser anneal them with anything you can think of and if they are removable tiles, again, we can put whatever you want on them!
Copy Stations
Which paper goes where so things don’t get messed-up? Well, we can laser mark that permanently instead of flimsy stickers or vinyl tags. As our work is permanent, you don’t to be worried about wiping it off while getting it cleaned and visually, everything will stay always the same, so you know which paper goes where as we can even outline their exact placement!
Countertops
Corian, Stainless Steel, Marble, Wood, Stone… it doesn’t matter what you use, as long as it isn’t vinyl (releases Chlorine gas which is bad for us and the machine) it’s something we can work with to engrave, mark, etch, anneal or even cut out. There are endless possibilities with a long flat surface. Our CNC laser is also massive, meaning we can actually do countertops that are a meter wide by however long you have.
If you are really into lean manufacturing where everything has its place, we can laser mark and label right into the countertop where the soap and other accessories must be placed after use.
Desks / Credenzas
From the obvious of laser engraving or marking a logo on any surface (vertical or horizontal) to the artistic like integrating a pattern which you then lacquer into place or put a glass onto. There is very little that can’t be done with a desk to give it that totally custom feel.
Display Cases
The horizontal glass partitions can be laser etched with a series of straight lines to give it more visual appeal or we can frost parts of it to indicate where a certain item should be placed or outlined. If they are acrylic, we can do the same and even create intricate cutouts so the inside light hits them differently or you can stick fiber optic edge-on to give them a glowing feel.
Entertainment Units
From laser engraving wooden details edge-on to providing an entire custom build solution, CNCROi.com can customize the vertical and horizontal paneling to suit any need. We can also cut through 3/4 inch laminate meaning removable panels can be created by us that can be done in a fraction of the time over using a CNC router.
Handrails and Chair rails
As I’ve mentioned, we have a massive machine, if it’s for a snake museum, we can laser engrave a snake along the entire handrail top to bottom regardless of its length. As for chairs in a local design firm, let us laser mark it like a ruler so people can easily measure things in their office without having to look for one!
Kitchen Cabinets
Our Austrian CNC laser is able to laser engrave high quality photos of the owner’s family right into the glass or wood exterior. If this project is for a corporate client, we can put in their logo on just about any part of the cabinet including any flat fixtures. We can also make templates, jigs and stencils for various creative uses within a kitchen… building a kitchen for a spray paint manufacturer? Well, use our laser cut stencils to put images and applications all over their stuff!
Lab Furniture
What are the steps involved in making sure your lab is spotless or used properly? Let us engrave it right into the bench, table and even instruments used there! Having a problem with people stealing your bunsen burners? We can laser mark them permanently, QR codes and item #s if you want, so people know exactly which place on the shelf to put them back in after use.
Libraries
We can laser cut a few books to put in secret items within the pages or create massive murals out of tile or anything else you have in mind to inspire the visitors. There are thousands of possibilities for public places from custom whiteboards to display signage and fixtures.
Store Fixtures
We have custom design capabilities which means we can design really awesome fixtures nobody has ever thought of or seen which we can then get cut using your CNC router or our CNC laser. If you have fixtures holding very delicate or small items, we can laser cut acrylic placeholders and even locking mechanisms to keep them safe but easily viewed.
Tall Storage / Lockers
From removable copper or stainless steel tags with people’s names to laser annealing a corporate logo right onto the surface, we can do it all! We can even remove the powder coating with incredible precision without affecting the strength of the unit.
Toilet Partitions
One of the most neglected areas of any company, why not make a laser engraved mural or put on them inspirational quotes or a massive timeline across multiple panels of great successes and achievements over the life of the company?
Wall Panels
Essentially any material that makes-up a wall panel, we can work with. Whether that’s fabric that we can custom cut without leaving any loose threads or leather that’s marked in an interesting repeated pattern… we can do it! If it’s for a corporate client, why not have their logo or a picture of their offices instead of just a boring piece of fabric?
… and that’s not all!
I have yet to find an application where our CNC laser can’t be used as an upsell for mill work… there are so many possibilities that even if I kept writing this blog post for the next few years, I’d still never run out of ideas of what we can do.
