CNCROi.com Business Card: Material Testing Design

There is no way around it, running a custom CNC laser shop requires a lot of material testing both as part of a spec work project CNCROi.com submits along with a proposal and just to keep adding interesting laser (for now) related work here on the site.

One thing that becomes apparent rather quickly while navigating our website is that you’ll see my logo and business card on a host of materials, from plastics to woods, metal to ceramics. Why? Well, it’s what I use to do my material testing with! Regardless of what material I put this business card on, it gives me an incredible amount of information.

For instance, the reason why I have a black band in the lower third of the card is to show me “reverse engraving” so I have both the top engraving and the bottom of what it would look like if I didn’t engrave the text but everything else around it.

I recent design change I made was a thicker phone number and email address – this provides me with an idea of how fine a detail I can get as to the left of it is very thin text. I’m going to be adding a slight outline shortly to test things in more detail. Basically, I want, with only a glance, if I’m going down the right material testing road.

The large letters CNCROi.com allow me to see in more detail what’s happening to the material in corners and small holes which is shown in more detail in the President below and the list goes on.

So from electrical panel marking to cell phones to stones, you have see and will continue to see my business card across a wide variety of materials.

My card isn’t a static material tester either, I’ve made changes to it over the months to help me further analyze what effect the laser has on it and will continue to do so… it also gives me lots of cool videos to share with visitors to our site. The amount of material that can fit under a laser for testing is limitless, just last week we did some testing for an industrial fashion designer of all things! Yep, we can cut fabric faster and better than any CNC orbital knife out there!

Here we grow again!

Oh yeah, we now have our first employee by the way… so CNCROi.com is no longer a one-man shop but now a 2.5 person custom CNC services company! We have a part timer come in when we have too much work to get done in a short period of time. If I get the projects that I’m hoping to in the next few months, that will have to grow yet again to handle volume.
