I originally talked with Rick a few years back from QR2id while I was living in Adelaide, Australia, he was in the process of buying a Trotec Laser and was going to use it to laser mark and engrave tags for the local market using a unique QR system. I was so impressed that I actually used it for my last book volume – right in the index so people wouldn’t have to type CNCKing.com!

What applications can QR2id benefit from?

Application 1: ID badges
We can fiber color change plastics or even anneal thin stainless steel tags, which are impossible to replicate unless you have a high-end CNC shop, to provide the ultimate security to your building or department. These tags can be scanned at any time using a cell phone and what will pop-up instantly is a photo of the employee or contractor with their full contact information (or anything else you wish to add). It will also track GPS coordinates (if you want) along with other useful information which may come in handy for remote or extra secure locations where only certain employees have access to specific areas.
