Custom Acrylic Name Badge Production
CNCROi.com posted videos before about our custom name badge production methods and capabilities but here’s a new one focused solely on acrylic.
In this case, we’ve used special color changing plastic and our fiber laser source (we have both in our top of the line Austrian machine). I had a piece of scrap in the shop that was perfect for this demonstration so here it is start to finish.
The first step is color changing the surface of the black matte acrylic, this is done using our fiber laser source, while a CO2 would just engrave into it, this other laser tube changes the surface properties for a brighter result.
As there is no dust or much fumes generated during this process, going top to bottom or bottom to up makes no difference, this specific name badge was laser color changed at 600 dpi.
The frostiness you see on the surface looks pretty neat – just changed a few settings on the fiber laser tube to achieve this rather than a flat white you see all around this custom-made acrylic name badge.
The results are sharp and will stand out, as this is custom-made in the shop on-demand, the outline can be anything you wish, round, square, rectangular or even organic shapes. If you really wanted to go further, we could have made this card into a stencil and just cut out the letters. It’s up to you!
Comparing the acrylic custom name badge with our anodized aluminium one, you can see the results are slightly different, again, we work around your specs and application not the other way around. We are just as comfortable doing thousands of these name badges in stainless steel, wood or anodized aluminium or laminate as we are with acrylic.
Doing a comparison of the same design, you can see how much the material affects the look and feel of the finished custom name badge.
What’s really nice is that you can now order these online from us in our online store custom to your spec! It’s never been easier to bring a little custom to your life and company! Of course, you aren’t stuck to BLACK with us, we’ve posted an extensive gallery of your custom acrylic color options.
That’s lots of options, some are better than others but then you throw-in the wrench called paint filling and it changes things even more! I haven’t even covered what we can do with laminates which have 10x more color options but are also the least durable of the bunch.
If you want to see how those other three custom name badges were done, here’s the video from an earlier blog post titled Infinite Custom Name Badge Options
