This custom bar sign was made from 1″ thick laminated Acadia, you can see the strips in the wood so the first step at CNCROi.com into transforming this into a sign is to cut it closely to size – it will be cut a second time based on the references created by our laser.

Before laser engraving this Acadia though, it needs to be sanded to remove the clear coat over it that is applied at the mill.

The custom bar sign is now ready to be laser engraved, this will be doe in several passes in order to create both depth and contrast in the Acadia wood species used.

Corian or solid surface material is also a great choice for custom signage, especially for outdoor applications.

The advantage of a laser engraved and carved custom bar sign is that there is nothing that will fade, crack or peel over time, the laser is creating charcoal, yes, it smells great in the shop during production as well.
