Custom Branded Coasters
CNCROi.com has made endless custom branded coasters through the years, let’s talk about what we can do while doing another custom brnading job for a customer with our laser.
For this specific project, the customer provided the coasters they made themselves using Maple and Oak, so in this case, we were only branding and shipping these back to the customer once done.
Of course, CNCROi.com could have made these coasters as well using our CNC router but being a woodworker as well, I understand the pride customers have making their own stuff and I’m all to happy to do aspects of the project which they themselves are unable to do.
With CNCROi.com, any mix of design specs and materials work fine for us, so if you wanted this to have an inlay area (as shown) or just a solid top, a Ash or even metal or plastic, we can make that as well in the shop.
Corian is a great material for coasters as we are able to brand and paint fill them with literally anything you can want for your business or for personal use, it’s incredibly durable as well.
We can also do custom branded coasters using multiple materials, so if you wanted an inlay out of say, stainless steel, out of a wooden coaster made out of Mahogany with a cork bottom, no problem for CNCROi.com!
Laser engraving can be anything you want, meaning any font, logo or mix of vector imagery works totally fine on just about any material you want us to do the branding upon, coasters or otherwise.
The contrast you see being formed on these custom branded coasters is just charcoal, as such, there is nothing that will fade, crack or peel overtime, unlike paints, dyes or inks.
Anodized aluminium is a great choice, we get fantastic resolution on it, can be available in many different colors and the best thing of all, incredibly light weight.
The only thing you need to be mindful of is that if we are cutting out any elements of the coasters with your logo or what-have-you, then we need to add additional supports for inner parts so they don’t fall out.
When laser engraving wood specifically, there is no two-way feedback mechanism with the laser, so there is some slight variation in depth depending on the density of the material, this is mostly prominent with hardwoods with very strong grain, but we can account of some of it so it’s barely noticeable.
CNCROi.com is able to produce custom coasters in any volume you wish, so whether you want 10 or a thousand, all the same or all different, it isn’t an issue for us to make and ship right to your door!
When it comes to plastics, they are a wonderful option and of course, it’s recyclable, acrylic or corian work great!
If you don’t like the smoky look around the laser engraving, it can be easily sanded off by us or you (if you wish to do it yourself), it’s only on the very top laser of the wood.
You can see the above custom branded coasters was done within an inlay area while the one below is done on a flat surface, this makes no difference production wise for CNCROi.com.
The goal in these custom branded coasters was branding, not depth, though there is a little depth created on purpose so that the customer could sand these (removing the smoke on the surface), but if they wanted, we could have literally engraved right through the coaster.
Metal, plastic, rubber, cork, wood… whatever you want branded, we can do it for you!
Engraving wood produces a wonderful camp fire like smell in the shop, so this type of work I could do all day everyday, it’s fun!
CNCROi.com also has CNC routers, so if you prefered a dimensional engraving without the burned look with paint or resin filling, CNCROi.com can make custom branded coasters to that spec as well.
When it comes to laser engraving, the results could be paint filled or with resin, however you like, if you wanted color on your custom branded coasters, keep in mind that you always have the depth as a backup so if it ever falls out or cracks away, you don’t lose the engraving.
It’s interesting just how many different types of coaster styles, designs etc. that CNCROi.com has made over the years, literally anything you can think of, within the bounds of physics, we can make for you.
Coasters are possible in endless varieties, no two need to be alike, and we can make them totally unique to your style.
This batch of custom branded coasters is just about done, it was across two different styles of wooden coasters, all with the same branding of course – typically, CNCRo.com customers have a limited number of designs they want to spread out across many different design styles so something like this is very typical.
You can now see the results of all the laser engraving, each engraving is identical but the variations in the wood are what gives each one of these custom branded coasters their distinctive character and charm.
Taking a look at the coasters in a different angle, you can see more clearly how well they came-out for our customer, they will be sanding this themselves, hence CNROi.com not doing it for them.
