Keep in mind that unlike a CNC router that our laser cuts ON THE LINE, this means there is a built-in “give” mechanism so you can make your outlines dead-on and you’ll have a fraction of a mm for your items to fit in properly to account for product peremeter variation.

In this case, this custom MDF UV printer jig will be heading to the UK, it’s two layered based on the customer’s specs and once the glue is settled, incredibly strong.
In this case, more than acrylic or any other material, once two layers of MDF are glued together, the bond is incredibly strong and durable, bonding acrylic does tend to dry out over time but MDF doesn’t have that issue, which is why CNCROi.com makes all our jigs out of MDF over acrylic after a few years of testing and fabricating custom jigs internally.
To give you an idea of scale, the smallest jig we use here at CNCROi.com is for fiber laser branding kitchen cabinet parts and we’ve run thousands of units through it and it works totally perfectly without any wear or tear.
These custom UV printer jigs have just regular carpenter’s glue applied throughout, CNCROi.com can glue them together or you can, it makes no difference to us but if you need precise guides, I’d suggest you slide one layer into your UV printer guides, apply glue, then slide the next layer, it will be more precise than using clamps at our end.

Adding heavy weights helps make sure that everything dries flat and precisely, the added benefit of this multi-layered approach to custom UV printer jig production is that it’s far less prone to warping due to humidify variations if you plan on using these in an area with wide seasonal fluctuations.
