Custom Wood Key Holder: Wall Art to Laser Engraved & Cut Pine

After engraving two identical custom wood key holders, it’s time to cut them out from the Pine, with the only difference between these being the grain pattern that occurs naturally in solid wood.

After CNC laser engraving and cutting out the Pine to produce this custom wood key holder, it’s time to remove it from our Austrian industrial wide-format laser and put it on our finishing table.
As you can see, the laser cut all the way through, the goal isn’t to cut through EVERYWHERE but to get “most” cut through, the reason being is that we can technically cut straight through these custom wood key holders no problem but using too much power produces a lot more soot so it’s just calibrating things to be “just enough” to accomplish the goal.
Sanding these custom wood key holders is done while it’s still within the pine board, it is a little loose, but sanding is easier and more precise over a larger surface area than smaller ones after engraving and cutting them out.
On the left, you can see what the custom wood key holder made by CNCROi.com looks like after sanding and the right after taking the saw dust off.
We aren’t done yet though!
These are custom wood key holders, so they need a “holding” detail, as such, using rusty pallet wood nails works perfectly.
There is a slight problem though, they are too long!
So, CNCROi.com uses it’s metal bandsaw to cut them down to size in our shop.
