Custom Wooden Name Badge: Thick Wood Veneer

We are able to make custom name badges in a variety of material, from over three dozen different wood species, ash through bloodwood, to Corian, laminate and acrylic in a bunch of thicknesses and finishes.

This is thin REAL WOOD veneer, the advantage with using REAL WOOD for custom name badges and tags is that you see the continuation of the grain pattern across the engraved and untouched surface.

The advantage of on-demand manufacturing are that you don’t need to hold any inventory, we make when you need it.

The engraving depth on wood, in this case, is less than 1 mm or 1/32 nd inch and the durability of this custom wooden tag is very good as it’s 1/8th inch or 3 mm thick. If you wanted this thicker, we can do that as well.

After the engraving process is complete, the silhouette of the shield is cut out using our CO2 industrial laser source from our Austrian wide-format laser.

You can see soot and smoke on the surface, it’s also on the back, which is why we used masking paper on both the front and back surface. Once that’s removed, and a little strategic sanding, this custom wood name badge is ready for prime time!

You can already see the deep grain color that will provide the contrast needed against the surface. As nothing was added or removed auxiliary wise, there is nothing to peel, fade or crack over time.

You can now see the size of this custom wood veneer name badge, using real wood has its challenges but we work with so much of this material, we’ve gotten through all the kinks that it presents to us.
