Eiffel Tower Refresh

As you may not know, I designed a pretty accurate kit version of the famous Eiffel Tower a while back for another site I run called CNCKing.com.

I’m currently in the process of slowly updating that site to be consistent across branding and video resolutions as that site is over 10 years old and as part of that, bringing old imagery and animations to better formats and resolutions.

Although my Eiffel Tower design is a more recent addition, it hasn’t suffered the same age related lowering of resolution but I also wanted to update the models on CNCKing.com to show pictures of it really being build.

The Eiffel Tower has been made since I began selling the design using a variety of CNC platforms, from plasma to laser and even orbital but my favorite was the metal laser cut version you can see below.

One of my goals with this specific design has always to make a far bigger one, now that I have my full-sheet CNC router, this dream is now a very possibility except I have no room in my shop for such a large model!

I even scaled down the laser version I cut just to get something that fit in my old shop and then gave it away upon moving to my current shop.

When ever I design a project for my customers, I build into the model the capability of cutting it out using other materials and CNC processes so that almost the same model can be cut using CNC plasma, CNC waterjet, CNC laser and CNC orbital to name a few.

My old Eiffel Tower that’s now being well taken care of by one of my customers whom I gifted it to will need to be cut again probably sometime next year as I want to cut it out using my CNC router.
