If you noticed in these photos of this dog shaped dry erase whiteboard, there is quite a bit of soot and smoke.
The reason why you don’t see it on the final product is simple, we masked the surface so it settled onto the protective mask instead of the whiteboard surface.
This is a custom whiteboard that this smoke and resin resistant, meaning whatever settles onto the dry erase surface will easily wipe off.
The reason why we use the mask is so that we just have to take this custom whiteboard off our bed and into the shipping envelope, it cost a little more to wrap but it saves us time in clean-up.
It also lessens the chance of us accidentally damaging the surface of the whiteboard by having to scrub it if a certain production stain doesn’t want to come off.

Now that the custom whiteboard dogs are complete, you can see why we “bothered” to mask the surface, it’s far easier to just take off a protective mask than to try to scrub off some of this smoke and resin from the vaporized glue.
Taking a closer look, you can see that the top surface will be white and the sides dark brown, just like the color of the engraving, this is why these look so great in their setting because there is awesome contrast for various elements making-up these custom whiteboards!
Here I made two, just to show you how identical they are, the smoke pattern may be different but that’s quickly resolved, otherwise, the same in every way.

Oh yeah, we aren’t just a manufacturer but also our own client! For instance, the top layer of this CNC laser station is actually the same whiteboard material I’ve been writing up about for the past hour!
Our shop has lots of working parts and as a result, can get dirty and keeping it clean and lean is always a struggle, so we surface lots of our custom fabricated tables with this same material.
It’s proven to be incredibly tough, even when metal plates drop on it, they get very rough and oily things put on them or whatever else gets thrown onto them, this whiteboard material has proven itself to be incredibly tough and durable in our industrial setting!
That’s why I know and can write so glaringly positively about it, we’ve even had 20 kg (45 lbs) plats fall on these desks with the whiteboard that would have gone straight through lesser material! There are marks, scratches and scruffs on these abused whiteboard surfaces but overall, they have proven incredibly resilient.

You can see now that the masking is taken off these whiteboard animals that they are nice and shiny!
It’s incredible that the same machine we use to anneal stainless steel plate, we use to etch into anodized aluminum and use to cut through 3/4 inch wood can produce something so fantastic on such a relatively fragile material!
You can see how well they shine and the perfect high quality surface properties of it.
There was no clean-up performed, this is right after the protective mask was removed without any touch-ups!
