Wood
Wood is an awesome material to cut, sculpt and engrave – from hardwoods like oak to softwoods like pine, our laser and router can make short work of it regardless of the application. We can also work with engineered woods in raw or painted/treated form.
The CNC technology we employ will be decided upon based on your specific application – this is a massive thing to remember – as we’ll use the best equipment for the best results, not try to jerry-rig our way through a project leading to less than stellar results. We also do a lot of work using live edge wood.
Planks or rounds, makes no difference as we spend our time making something top quality for you, either fresh from the kiln or aged with cracks and deeper engraving. Production happens in our shop, start to finish, so we have complete control from design through finishing.
We can fit large pieces several meters long if desired, cut, engraved to suit just about any application, from MDF to wooden logs.
Send us a challenge and we’ll rise up to meet and exceed your expectations.
Some applications best suited to wood:
- small arts and crafts
- signage and displays
- full-sized and miniature furniture
- architectural models
- wooden inlays
- toys
- marine paneling (base)
Of course, the wood doesn’t have to be set on only one panel – there are endless creative uses behind engraving, cutting or marking wood from unique signage to marking shop pencils (yes, we have fun in the shop!)
CNCROi.com also has extensive experience designing and building wood models, visit our Model Making page.
Cork is an especially nice material to work with as it provides a very high contrast when engraved and is quickly laser cut, visit our Cork Specific material page. We are also able to laser engrave and cut 3/4 inch laminated press wood!
Engineered wood isn’t a problem for us, we can both cut thinner stock and engrave it for precise, repeatable results time and again.
Regardless of your need, contact us to turn your wood engraving and cutting applications into reality!
Please note that we can handle very high volumes, so if you need a thousand or several thousand of something, it’s not an issue for us to make and build them.
