Pine Blessing Exit Sign: Custom Laser Engraving
This Pine blessing exit sign features the Colorado Mountain Range along the top, a great idea from our CNCROi.com customer!
To give you a complete contrast regarding wood that’s roughly the same size but a far denser and thicker piece of wood, here’s what something “bigger” looks like production wise.
As with the Ash above, this is also Pine straight from the mill, meaning it’s rough cut and needs to be planned for both clean-up and to produce a nice smooth surface.
The only difference with the Ash sign above other than material and size is the application, where this Pine exit sign will be over a door, so weight is a consideration and you don’t need a huge chunk of wood to achieve this.
CNCROi.com can also make smaller custom wooden items, like this solid Maple desk business card holder.
After the Pine exit sign is planned, it’s time to mask the surface and stick it in our industrial Austrian CNC laser.
The quote on this Pine exit sign is as follows:
May the peace of the Lord Christ go with you, wherever He may send you.
May He guide you through the wilderness, protect you through the storm.
May He bring you home rejoicing at the wonders He has shown you.
May He bring you home rejoicing once again into our doors.
Of course, if you want custom slot lamps or any type of furniture, CNCROi.com can make that for you out of plywood through solid wood.
With the customer, we tried this Pine exit sign using a few different font styles and they decided which suited their needs the best, our wide-format industrial laser is able to engrave any font, symbol or imagery onto just about anything.
You can see why the mask was applied over the surface, notice the smoke and resin that settles on the surface that’s on the mask and not the Pine surface itself.
After the CNC laser engraving is complete at CNCROi.com, it’s time to cut out the sign from the Pine board.
What I really like about wood is how easily it’s customized for a whole host of purposes, from Family Monograms to tea lights.
You can see the Colorado Mountain Range coming to life now at the top of the sign, this was such a great suggestion from our customer that I told them it was a fantastic idea I will use again for sure!
The laser engraving and cutting of the Pine exit sign is now done, you can clearly see the outline of the sign that’s cut out of the rough planned and cut to sized Pine board.
CNCROi.com also works with a lot of other woods, here’s a quick example of just some of the veneers we work with on a regular basis.
Of course, we don’t want this sign to arrive to the customer with dents into it, as such, we also cut two thin sheets of plywood to cover the front and back of this Pine exit sign for protection during shipping.
To keep thing accurate and as our CNC laser was working anyways, might as well use that to cut this plywood to size for shipping.
The front and back plywood boards that will protect the Pine exit sign on both sides.

It’s now time to remove the protective mask and then sand the surface to produce a nice clean surface for our customer of his Pine exit sign with Colorado Mountain Range above.
After sanding, you can see how the words we CNC laser engraved into the Pine look a little hard to see, that’s just because the saw dust went into the engraved area.
CNCROi.com‘s air compressor does quick work though of all the wood chips and sawdust to remove it revealing the nice dark brown text on the Pine exit sign.
