For this specific job, the customer provided the rusted mild steel, it’s 12 ga or 2.8 mm or a little less than 1/8″ thick and slightly warped… none of these issues present any issue for us to convert this into a set of alphanumerics.

The bright light you see right at the nozzle of the plasma torch is the arc that’s created, this goes straight through the rusted mild steel due to grounding onto the table so the power stream is actually very short, the power of the arc is quickly lost thereafter, thus not cutting the grid you see under the slats on the table.
