The plasma exceeds in speed but it does have a larger diameter hole that it creates during the cutting process, you really notice this on the sharp inner corners, the waterjet is still not perfectly square inner corner capable, but it’s pretty close by comparison where the plasma has a much more rounded result.

Where the plasma maybe vaporizes about 1/16″of material along the cutting path, the waterjet is about half that, depending on the settings used for the material being cut, this is why you see both technologies employed for jobs at CNCROi.com… each has their cost and benefit.

For this custom steel barrel head stencil, the customer has the option of using both fire to brand their barrel heads and spray paint, or interchange between them, as the steel will not melt from a propane fire, unlike polycarbonate, which although incredibly strong, will melt under heat.

Custom barrel head stencils can have any mix of vector images, so they are sharp at any resolution, and fonts, including sizing, but do keep in mind that this is a stencil, so inner parts must be supported with bridging material.

This custom steel barrel head stencil is looking awesome, just a few pieces of metal are stuck due to their angle, as a result, once the stencil is lifted, most of them just fall right out, the ones that don’t just need a little tender loving push to come out, due to their geometry, they can sometimes be a little stubborn but they all come out eventually.

Other than my fingerprints, a dead giveaway that this is stainless steel like most fridges you see in kitchens, this steel barrel head stencil is looking awesome, although the surface quality is completely irrelevant as fire and paint will quickly take care of any fingerprints.

Looking at the close-up, you can see how sharp everything is, though if you look extra closely, you’ll see how all the inner corners are still rounded slightly, that’s a dead give-away that this is waterjet cut.

Regardless, I’ve very proud of how this came out and can’t wait for the customer to review and use this at their business – another fantastic product produced by CNCROi.com for the customer to enjoy for eons to come.
