You’ll notice that the process regardless of size or design, is essentially the same for all three custom Trodat self-inking stamps.
The rubber used for all three custom Trodat self-inking stamps is the same as well, same thickness, same resolution for engraving it and for this specific job, I had a smaller pieces of rubber that I could use to make them.
I like making little rubber stamps as much as making bit ones.

CNCROi.com has a Trotec Laser 400 Flexx and as such, has optimal software and hardware for custom stamp production as the parent company of Trotec is Trodat, the world’s largest stamp manufacturer.
After laser engraving all three custom Trodat self-inking stamps, the process thereafter is cutting them out, this assures that nothing moves, to make a precise engraving every time.
Additionally, all three custom Trodat self-inking stamps look muddy and rough right out of the laser after the engraving process but this is just soot that builds-up on the surface and all around the rubber stamp, the rubber for these stamps also comes from Trodat by the way.
We are able to make a whole bunch of custom rubber stamps but self-inking is more popular than totally custom because of the time savings that come from using self-inking ones.

After the first stamp is cut out and cleaned, it’s time for CNCROi.com to move to the next one, again, same process, just the design and size has changed.
What I really enjoy about making custom rubber stamps, self-inking or otherwise, at CNCROi.com is the diversity of the design styles and uses, in this case, you can see how different all three custom Trodat self-inking stamps are.
When it comes to making custom stamps, not only any black and white vector work totally fine, but you can also have literally any font choice you want, so if you want something standard like Ariel or want to go crazy using Dingbat, no problem for CNCROi.com!
When it comes to these three custom Trodat self-inking stamps, you’ll notice that there are always little bits and pieces left over from the production of one stamp to the next, those are definitely kept because CNCROi.com makes custom rubber stamps of all sizes and shapes and thus, we don’t throw away rubber until there is literally nothing that can be further made with it.
The most popular trodat self-inking stamp made by CNCROi.com is by far the Trodat Professional 5212.

The bright light you see in the engraving process is actually the instant vaporization of the rubber under the power of the laser, you see it when engraving is occurring and not when nothing is happening.
Engraving into rubber isn’t the fastest of processes at the resolution CNCROi.com chooses to make these, there is no way to cut corners with rubber stamps because all you end-up doing is producing a sub-quality stamp and thus, impression for the customer on all their materials they use it for.
For this specific bunch stamps, all three were using a black ink pad but there are a variety of colors available, and if you want to get a fill for the ink pad once it runs dry, no problem, we can help you with that as well.
When it comes to self-inking rubber stamps, there are a lot of choices available.

The question of whether to go with self-inking or not is totally up to our customers, there is a lot more flexibility in size and shape of the overall stamp but nothing beats the speed of self-inking stamps when it comes to volume stamping.
The smell of laser engraving rubber is almost identical to a burning corpse, so as a result, CNCROi.com likes to do all the stamps then follow it up with wood as it takes a while for the smell to go away.
It’s pretty obvious when CNCROi.com‘s CNC laser is cutting over engraving, notice that the beam is very narrow and focused rather than going across, engraving is done along the gantry in long swings while the cutting is done at a slower speed to go through all the rubber properly.
Rubber cuts extremely well using our professional CNC laser, it’s like a hot knife through melted butter or like our plasma through stainless steel.
Of course, there are always gasses extruded through the cutting process, the picture below shows a wonderful blowout, CNCROi.com has a very powerful extraction system so this causes no issue during production regarding any safety hazards.
Lots of colors available but by far the most popular is the black ink pad.

The finished last rubber stamp in this small production run is looking great, notice the muddied look, it will change very fast once it’s cleaned-up.
All of those particulates are soot from the rubber itself, produced during both the engraving and cutting process of the three custom Trodat self-inking stamps.
It’s like night and day comparing the above picture to the one below, notice how sharp everything is, I just love that I not only get to make these for my customers but am the first to test it out as well!
Here’s an amazing money shot of all the three Trodat professional self-inking stamps all three custom Trodat self-inking stamps were stuck into and they are now shipped to the customer!
