Today, we are making a high-resolution self-inking stamp for the Trodat 5212, the biggest self-inking stamp in the marketplace!
CNCROi.com makes lot of stamps, from small mini ones that would fit at the end of a pencil to large industrial stamps that go onto big drums.
Custom rubber stamp production for the Trodat 5212 self-inking stamp always starts with 3 items:
- A Trotec Laser specially designed and constructed by Trodat to make AWESOME custom rubber stamps.
- Rubber material directly from Trodat, the world’s largest rubber stamp manufacturer.
- A stamping mechanism, this time a Trodat 5212 self-inking rubber stamp no less!
Using this perfect trifecta, CNCROi.com then ups the resolution to a thousand DPI to produce flawlessly perfect custom rubber for the Trodat 5212 that our customers across North America (and the Bahamas in this case) have come to enjoy from us.
Custom rubber engraving is a messy process, there is a lot of rubber dust, as you saw in the video, my hands end-up full of ink and it’s a multi-step process but you know what, IT’S ALL WORTH IT.
Our customers love our custom stamps!
Making custom rubber stamps, in this case for the Trodat 5212 is the same regardless of which mechanism we make them for, and CNCROi.com can also go full-custom so if all you want is the rubber to use with you own stamping system, no problem!
There are a host of different rubbers CNCROi.com uses for its custom stamp manufacturing, across many different durometer (hardness), thicknesses and surface qualities.
Making custom rubber for the Trodat 5212 starts with a vector image, from there, we optimize the settings to produce the best stamp our machine and the rubber we get from Trodat can make.
CNCROi.com has expertise across a wide variety of digital image manipulation, meaning we know what is needed to produce the optimal results for your custom rubber stamp.
Engraving rubber, in this case, Trodat rubber, is no different from engraving any other material really, the sizes and the application may change, but it always involves a Trotec Laser going back and forth vaporizing the rubber.
As an official Trodat supplies representative, we have full access to everything they do, so regardless of where you are in the world, or what you may need done using rubber, CNCROi.com can help you out!
Our laser was manufactured from Austria, it’s made by Trotec Laser whose parent company is Trodat and everything in our system, software to hardware, if finely tuned for high quality and repeatable industrial custom production.
Rubber stamp mechanisms are available in many different colors, by far the most popular at CNCROi.com is black but we also have green, red, blue and many other colors also available.
If you aren’t sure what stamping mechanism is good for your application, or sizing, there is an online store with pricing at CNCROi.com under “buy online” heading but you can also just as easily contact us and we can help you out.
Doing our work at such high-resolution using such high quality machinery means that CNCROi.com produces amazing custom rubber engraving and by extension, stamps both traditional and self-inking.
For the Trodat 5212, the area of the stamp is a HUGE, industry leading, 70 x 116 mm or 2.8 x 4.6 inches. There is so much that can be put onto these Trodat stamps that it can comfortably replace 2-3 normal rubber stamps.
It’s also wonderful for shipping departments where on-the-fly forms need to be made to sign material in and out or trade shows as a replacement for physical business cards.
The Trodat 5212 is the biggest self-inking rubber stamp on the market!
After production, you can see the cake that’s left on the Trodat rubber that will be stuck onto the Trodat 5212 self-inking stamp.
And below is a picture of a “use to be clean” custom blue anodized aluminium vineyard locator that shows you just how much material made its way onto the top of the rubber.
Here it is at another angle, it looks horrible, like what you’d typically buy at the dollar store but fear not, CNCROi.com can clean it good as new, revealing what our CNC laser produced out of this Trodat rubber!
Just lifting it off the laser platform shows you how powdery this vaporized rubber soot is, it comes right off.
And voila, totally clean (and still wet) Trodat rubber, it’s quite a transformation from the above picture isn’t it?
You can already start to see the fine details that can only be seen by going at such a high-resolution.
Let’s zoom in and see just how amazingly clear the engraving is, everything is nice and smooth, no ruggedness at all!
This will produce awesome imprints for the Trodat 5212 that our customer will receive shortly!
The custom rubber stamp for the Trodat 5212 also has plenty of depth, just the right amount of thickness for longevity and optimal imprint quality.
Again, looking closely, you can see the roundness of the lettering without any hint of rough edges or corners.
That’s why Trodat rubber + Trotec Laser = amazing results for our customers!
It’s now time to stick the rubber onto the Trodat 5212 self-inking stamp.
It’s a straight forward process, stick the rubber underneath, then press down to “stick”.
Here’s an action shot of the Trodat professional 5212 emblem, looks amazing and you get a free rubber stamp from CNCROi.com with it too!
After the Trodat 5212 is mated with the Trodat rubber, it’s set to go right out of the box after the ink pad cartridge is place in the right spot.
Here are the results on paper, the fading is caused by me removing the ink cartridge to prepare the stamp for shipping to the Bahamas (in this case) so that everything arrives in one piece, working right out of the box.
Man do I wish I could go with some of the stamps CNCROi.com produces for its customers!
