Our Trotec Laser is better than Tony Stark’s (Ironman)!
Yep, it’s true, the CNC laser that we have in our CNCROi.com shop is actually better than the one Tony Stark uses in his Ironman lab!
Yep, he’s got an Austrian Trotec Speedy 300 flexx which is an awesome machine, that was actually on my list to buy before the release of the Trotec Speedy 400 flexx which we currently have pleasure of playing with in our shop! What’s the difference? Our platform is a meter x infinite, meaning we can put pieces THROUGH the machine to CNC laser mark, engrave, anneal, etch or cut. You don’t have pass through ability on the Trotec Speedy 300 (flexx or otherwise) and our default platform is bigger. Both machines are the same speed regarding production results.
Here is a video I made showing the differences between a Trotec Speedy 300…
400 and 500. By the way, our 400 flexx is one step up from the one in the video below, we have dual tubes (CO2 and fiber) and a bunch of other bells and whistles that greatly increase the output of our machine. We not only bought the best CNC laser in its class in the WORLD but also throw-in a bunch of extras to make it even better! I’m overdue to make a video showcasing some of our equipment in the shop as these are getting a little dated.
Pride in our machinery
When I started CNCROi.com, my focus was on getting the absolute best equipment to help us complete our customer’s projects. Sure, I could have filled the workshop with lots of other machinery if I would have bought my CNC laser from a Chinese company just from the savings but then I’d have production problems and worse, our customers wouldn’t have the quality they’ve come to expect from us. I’ve lost count of how many manufacturers I’ve met with where the first question on the shop floor is where does my CNC laser come from. If I said Chinese, my ass would be to the curb!
You simply can’t fake your equipment when you are doing projects for companies, you can either meet their spec work and their quality standards or you can’t. They were among the first to jump onto foreign manufacturers due to price but soon realized that the savings in equipment weren’t a way forward due to the headaches involved in production. I have several friends who bought CNC equipment from China (and other places) and lived to regret it, one had to completely rewire the machine and purchase new gCode software (he’s an engineer so no problem for him) and the other had months of endless problems before having the machine bought back from his company for pennies on the dollar.
Adam Savage of Mythbusters
Guess who else has an Austrian Trotec Laser? Yep, Adam Savage of Mythbusters… CNCROi.com is in good company!
Now that you are familiar with our CNC laser equipment, you can see that his version is “just” a straight CO2 CNC laser, one step down from Tony Stark’s which has both a fiber and CO2 laser tubes.
