Beer Bottle Branding: CNC Laser Engraving Glass
Beer bottle branding is performed by CNCROi.com 9.5 times out of 10 using our industrial wide-format CNC laser, for objects where the shape is “odd”, we use our industrial sandblaster.
I’ve done quite a few videos and blog posts relating to cylindrical items being used with our awesome Trotec rotary system in our Trotec Laser 400 flexx but the most apt at this point is the one I did with full wine bottle engraving.
There you go, proof that CNCROi.com can not only permanently engrave beer bottle branding but do the exact same for wine bottles and literally any other type glass or cylindrical item needing laser work.
I have quite a few more bottles of Sapporo in CNCROi.com‘s CNC laser than was left the next day in the shop, I wanted to show the beer bottle branding from a few different angles.
With all the work CNCROi.com does in the shop, the acrylic layers that allow us to see into the machine get gunky pretty quick, normally this isn’t an issue for a shop but the camera really loves to find and display gunk in all it’s glory.
If you want to see that huge John Wayne quote on the wine bottle engraved into solid 3/4″ 18 mm Pine, check this video out.
Beer bottle branding is no different from branding Pine, it’s the same CO2 laser source, it’s the same overhead gantry and the only really difference is the power setting and speed to achieve a similar result on a different material.
The light produced during beer bottle branding or even wine bottle engraving is BRIGHT and it’s almost the same intensity as you see when people are welding metal together.
If you are wondering where the inspiration for this beer bottle branding came about, it was actually a thought I had at CNCROi.com after making this custom beer bottle opener.
I just grabbed the “BEER! A solution that doesn’t need a problem to enjoy” and put that into our rotary system on our Trotec laser and engraved this same quote around the beer bottle.
As you can see in the photo below, the light from micro-cracking glass is pretty intense and high, about half an inch or a cm tall but it’s highly focused and only on the very top of the beer bottle.
Here is a video showcasing with a bit more visibility what your design options are when it comes to CNCROi.com laser engraving cylinders of all materials, shapes and sizes.
The process of beer bottle branding does not head-up the beer in the bottle, these are all full beer bottles, the micro-cracking happens only on the very top surface of the bottle.
The dust you see around the engrave is just small pieces of sand / glass that shoots-up during the beer bottle branding laser engraving process.
The beer bottle branding looks great, totally permanent and it’s similar to what is achieved on wine bottles laser engraving.
The contrast is different just due to the fact that the color of the wine bottles and beer bottle branding in this blog post are different, I’d say the darker the bottle, the better the visibility of the micro-fractured glass.
The consistency of our results are amazing, doing one at a time or batches makes no real difference and they can all be branded the exact same or totally differently by CNCROi.com, it’s up to you.
It’s hard to focus properly on something so small but you can see the beer bottle branding by CNCROi.com has a very nice texture to it, the edges are sharp (not cutting wise, resolution wise).
You can see what different glass items look like engraved by CNCROi.com using different text but the end result is always the same, small highly focused glass shattering in the shape of any words, symbols or brands.
A beer bottle branded to match a beer bottle opener, life really is perfect!
Just to show you how the shapes compare, I made the beer bottle silhouette slightly bigger on purpose to make it stand out a bit more.
Notice the dust on the bottle? Welcome to CNCROi.com where we actually MAKE STUFF and as a result, metal, wood, acrylic and whatever else does form dust on items.
