What is CNCROi.com’s Purpose?

Throughout my history of building businesses, one things that I’ve always been very keen about is not to build a business just to “exist” or to provide myself (and others) with jobs but to create a business with a clear purpose.

CNCROi.com started in half of my parent’s two car garage with a brand new Trotec Laser Speedy 400 flexx and my good old ShopBot Desktop, after a few months I got a cordless dill and I had it made!

We’ve grown tremendously since those early beginnings all those years ago!

How CNCROi.com Began

For CNCROi.com, when I first started the business over 5 years ago now, it was to bring custom fabrication to the forefront, whether it was for people’s businesses or homes, I had the tools and the expertise, my focus was just on getting the word out there that what I envisioned years earlier was possible.

That is the main reason why I began making videos of projects, some simple, some more complex, but I knew from experience that if people don’t see something, most don’t envision it being possible!

My first few customers actually were highly reluctant to even do business with me as my approach was so different, they never had anybody tell them anything was possible, I had to make prototypes to gain the trust!

My background to operate every aspect of CNCROi.com is entirely self-taught, from the 3D modeling and fabrication to machine and tooling, I never when to school for any of this stuff.

I just enjoy making stuff, before started CNCROi.com, I had started and run CNCKing.com which was basically me creating 3D modeling of plans for people who had the machines that I now own to cut stuff.

I learned through CNCKing.com that most people with these machines didn’t know how to operate their machines efficiently or effectively nor did they have design skills beyond typing-up fronts.

This is why most shops actually don’t do custom in-house, much less take the projects on because they can’t!

CNCROi.com was going to be different, sure we can make name plates and the typical things “award shops” do but instead of a means to an end, for my business, it was only a small sliver of what we could offer.

Where other shops focused on getting customers to fit in a specific scope, I far more enjoyed going totally custom right off the bat!

Custom is way more fun than simply doing the same things over and over again, where our customers would approach us with what they did in the past, I’d suggest “that” and “by the way, how about we do this instead” and 9 times out of 10, that’s what won!

What’s unique about CNCROi.com?

Of course, custom has headaches associated with it, finding reputable material suppliers is a major one, constant needs for new equipment is another huge one but the challenge of making something that’s never been made before and releasing our customers from the mold of what everybody else did is great fun once they get the hang of our capabilities.

Instead of the typical catalog where the customer picks what they want, CNCROi.com just asks, what do YOU want if you had no design, material or financial limitations?

Of course, there is always a budget to contend with a deadline but being able to work backwards, replacing materials to something more cost effective, adjusting scale… it’s a liberating process!

You may think that the process of custom creation is long and laborious but it’s actually very fast, just a rough idea of the project scope, budget per unit, material preferences, then CNCROi.com gets on making a digital mock-up followed by a prototype if warranted.

Although there are millions of possible permutations to accomplish any which project, it gets narrowed down pretty quickly and most surprising, most physical prototypes are actually sent off to the customer within 24 hours of initial contact after sorting out what needs to be made and how.

Custom really isn’t “hard”, you don’t need to be a design expert, you don’t need to own expensive machines, hold inventories of endless material options nor do you need to struggle with learning far too many software programs.

Just send it to us and we’ll handle all of that for you, all you need to do is communicate to us what you want and that’s it.

CNCROi.com will follow-up with further questions if needed and get the project rolling for you.

I’ve been making “custom” most of my life, so whether you want something “easy” or “hard”, we’ve got the experience to turn it around and ship it right to your door.
