Custom Laser Cut Stencil Production

Stencils can be used for a variety of purposes, from masking agents for marking just about anything with a can of spray paint to ornamental objects to be hung anywhere in the office or on windows. 3 mm hardboard stencil

Stencils can be made out of a variety of materials from thin stainless steel for heavy-duty applications requiring it to last a long time to scrap hardboard (as seen above) where cost is a major factor and use will be few and far between. Stencils are incredibly easy to make and can also be a lot of fun – let your imagination run wild!

In this case, I made a stencil out of a 3D Apatosaurus (Brontosaurus) I designed a while back, throw-in a few tricks of the trade and I had my silhouette followed by it being cut out with my Trotec Speedy 400 flexx using our CO2 laser on hardboard.

I made this stencil to show at my Maker Faire 2014 booth in New York next week where I’ll be selling my books to teach other people how to design for CNC machines (lasers, routers, 3D printers and plasma), so I’m not just the owner of CNCROi.com, I’m also a dedicated and very demanding client!
