CNCROi.com can make custom softwood manual rubber stamps at pretty much any size you require with any mix of design elements, engraved and cut through, that you can imagine, we offer ultimate flexibility!
Even highly detailed stamps are possible, self inking or otherwise, by CNCROi.com.
The reason to go with manual stamps over self-inking are many, but generally, it’s because the customer wants a size not available within the self-inking alternatives or specific ink colors just don’t work well without the use of a regular ink pad.
For this specific custom softwood manual rubber stamps project, CNCROi.com was making two different stamps at the same time, one rounded, the other square using 3/4″ backing bonded to 1/8″ rubber.
I have lots of little “bits” of rubber from larger projects that work perfectly for these smaller projects so nothing is wasted at CNCROi.com.
We can of course only make the rubber component of stamps as well, so you aren’t stuck with any one supply from us, we make what you want and require for your given application.
The laser engraving process for each of these stamps is essentially done one product at a time, as such, regardless of the design parameters you choose to have them made by us for, whether you want two or two hundred, they all count for volume discounts during production.
The reason CNCROi.com uses 3/4″ laminated Pine more often than not for custom softwood manual rubber stamps is because it’s flat, easy on the hands and engraves great, the other material we generally use for these manual stamps is MDF, both are great.
The Trotec laser machine we use to make these custom softwood manual rubber stamps also has a fiber laser source, it’s a dual source machine, but for making these, we use our CO2 laser source.
When it comes to Pine backed rubber stamps, you have incredible flexibility to have it however you want.
The plate you see underneath of the Trodat rubber is our standard metal plate, I just like having a flat plate to work from when it comes to laser engraving stamps, it looks rough, but does a wonderful job of holding down the rubber – I always forget to get around to cleaning up the plate at CNCROi.com!
I’ve honestly lost count as to how many stamps I’ve made at CNCROi.com for customers across North America, Europe and the Caribbean.
Now that this custom softwood manual rubber stamp is finished, you can see the dust covering the stamp, that’s from the vaporizing of the rubber that settles back onto it during the engraving process.
Custom rubber stamps can be BIG or small, going the manual route gives you a lot more flexibility as they don’t need to fit within a specific inking pad size or shape.
Engraving then cutting the custom softwood manual rubber stamps makes sure there is absolute precision in the production process, this is especially important when it comes to rubber stamps where any small imperfection will be noticed again and again… and again!
You can see the dust settled on the stamps image below, I removed a little with my finger to show you how thick and muddy it is, it’s stick stuff and of a very fine powder consistency.
After the rubber half of the custom softwood manual rubber stamps is complete, it’s time to put the 3/4″ laminated Pine in the laser and using the same laser source (CO2), it’s time to cut the hard backing that will provide both a grip and flatness required for proper manual stamping.
Here’s among the first rubber stamps I made when I started my business years ago.
As I’m laser engraving into the Pine before cutting it out, literally any mix of fonts and black and white vector imagery works perfectly fine, basically, anything I do with the rubber, I can do with the softwood.
After both the rubber and the Pine of the custom softwood manual rubber stamps are complete, then they are glued together and ready for shipment from CNCROi.com.
Pine has a very strong grain pattern when laser engraved, looks unique and I find this makes it easier to locate on a desk as it stands out in just about any light setting.
The two custom softwood manual rubber stamps are now complete, the resolution on the Pine is a bit less obviously than the rubber, the denser the material, the more resolution you can have.
