Trodat 5211 vs 5212: Self-Inking Stamp Comparison
CNCROi.com is optimized to the hilt for custom Trodat 5211 Professional and their full range of custom stamps thanks to our awesome Trotec Laser, developed initially just for stamp making but it did such a good job in that department that it excelled at everything else we do for our customers!
This isn’t the first Trodat 5211 Professional I’ve made nor will it ever be the last, although the mechanism may evolve over time, the fact that each custom rubber stamp we make for this model (and others) is unique is what keeps making custom stamp making fun and exciting to me.
I’m always amazed by the diversity of what our customers come-up with, whether it’s for the Trodat 5211 Professional or other sizes and options, before I started CNCROi.com, I really couldn’t have imagined just how many different images and texts can go onto something as relatively simple as a self-inking rubber stamp.
As you can see, CNCROi.com has a lot of experience making custom self-inking and traditional stamps at our shop, these videos are just a fraction of what we do here.
For this project, I thought it would be fun to do a quick comparison of the Trodat 5211 Professional vs the Trodat 5212 Professional, just to show how much of a leap Trodat did when they created this massive self-inking stamp that we make so many custom projects with for our customers.
My company also makes lots of traditional custom rubber stamps, these are great if you have odd shapes and sizing that don’t fit in any traditional stamp offerings.
As CNCROi.com engraves all our custom rubber stamps at a thousand DPI, the quality of the imagery and resultant impression is always sharp and totally beautiful as well as durable and long-lasting.
CNCROi.com is a certified distributor and manufacturer of the entire range of Trodat supplies, whether you need one custom rubber stamp or thousands, we are here to make them just for you on budget and most importantly on time!
The Trodat 5211 Professional has a surface area of (55 x 85 mm or 2 5/32 x 3 5/16″) while the Trodat Professional 5212 Professional self-inking stamp has a MASSIVE (70 x 116 mm or 2.8 x 4.6″).
My company has been making custom rubber stamps for years, the evolution of Trodat’s offerings is well documented on our website and will continue to grow over time.
Regardless of the age of type of custom rubber stamp we make for you, the Trodat stamp company is an industry leader in the production of these mechanisms and CNCROi.com is a very reputable dealer of all their offerings as both a customer ourselves and supplier to industry far and wide.
Whether you go with the smaller or the larger, the quality of the results is the same, CNCROi.com can scale-up your vector to the Trodat 5212 sizing or down to the Trodat 5211 Professional without any loss in sharpness or resolution, it’s just that one is smaller and the other is bigger.
It’s always fun when production is finished on the Trodat rubber we use to see what the results are after clean-up, from the above straight after our industrial Austrian wide-format CNC laser engraved and cut the stamp to the washed results below, it’s really night and day.
Want a round rubber self-inking stamp? CNCROi.com makes those too, generally those take the shape of a Trodat Professional 5215, custom to your specs! We’ve also made huge round rubber stamps using the Trodat 5212 thanks to the larger surface area for select applications.
You may notice that the above rubber is gray for the Trodat 5212 while the one for the Trodat 5211 Professional, they both have the same durometer and resolution, the difference is that the Aero brand above (from Trodat) has no smell during production while the one below in green (also from Trodat) does.
It does take a lot of photos at CNCROi.com to get the timing dead perfect to produce some neat imagery of the Trodat 5211 Professional being laser engraved custom to our customer’s specs.
There is a reason why CNCROi.com makes a lot of custom Trodat 5212 self-inking professional stamps, we are passionate about making them and they offer a huge surface area to fit just about any information onto them.
Engraving Trodat rubber can happen up going down or down going up, there really is no difference, I just like to mix it up a bit for the videos to make it a bit more interesting, CNCROi.com has compressed air shooting down during production so any debris is quickly removed from the un-engraved surface before the laser starts to dig-in.
You have to keep in mind that everything looks rounded and tight as there is still debris that sticks to the rubber, whether it’s the Trodat 5211 Professional or any of the other custom rubber stamps we produce at CNCROi.com, they always look a bit blurry then sharp after clean-up.
Whether you have hard fonts and text or tight curves and thin lines, CNCROi.com is here to make an awesome custom self-inking rubber stamps just for your application.
All that rubber dust and powder comes right off, that’s part of the fun, at first you think the stamp looks horrible and out of spec but after being cleaned-up, it’s dead-on perfect!
The next step after cleaning-up the Trodat 5211 Professional rubber we made with our Austrian CNC laser is to marry it to the Trodat 5211 Professional stamping mechanism and insert the black (in this case) ink pad that the customer requested.
CNCROi.com also makes lots of just regular pieces of rubber for our customers to use on their own stamps or even wooden ones for internal use.
For this project, both projects were black ink which looks great for the vast majority of custom rubber projects we do here at CNCROi.com.
CNCROi.com also offers the mini-fit-in-your-pocked Mobile Printy range of self-inking rubber stamps, if you need a stamp, self-inking or not, we can make it for you!
Here’s a close-up of the Trodat 5211 Professional rubber after it has been inked a little bit to increase the contrast in the photo.
