The dust you see building-up on what will soon be the rubber aspect of the Trodat Professional 5212 we are making in this blog post is just rubber dust, it comes right off and protects the surface from the incredible heat produced by our laser after it has passed over a particular area of the stamp during production.
After the entire Trodat Professional 5212 is engraved out of the Trodat rubber, it’s then cut out so that we can affix it to the Trodat stamping mechanism.
The rubber engraving and cutting process is always the same, the only thing that changes is the design that is produced into the rubber for our customers.
The bright light is just the laser interacting with the vaporized rubber and the backing we put the rubber on during production.
This is looking great so far, the dust is incredibly fine, as you can see, I pushed my finger into it in the image below and it just moved the dust, the rubber is intact below it.
After a quick clean-up you can see how amazing the quality and sharpness of this Trodat Professional 5212 rubber is, we use the same rubber for all our custom rubber stamps, nothing beats Trodat and we’ve experimented extensively with other suppliers and always come back to them.
The custom rubber stamp is now finished and will be shipped to it’s new home, the results are tested upon on white paper to make sure the quality is up to snuff as if there are any issues, we can fix them in the shop faster than trying to figure out what’s going on at the customer’s end.
