For this production run of custom industrial welding tags, we used 20 ga 304 stainless steel with #4 finish and the branding is done using our galvo fiber laser etcher, the “brown” you see is the uncleaned version straight out of the machine, this is actually stainless steel soot that builds-up on the tag were it is etched by CNCROi.com.
A quick clean-up reveals the finished custom industrial welding tag, it’s extremely difficult to get the right angle on these to do the surface branding justice, but you can clearly see the 3D look we created with our galvo system that isn’t possible using our gantry fiber laser etcher.
Different angles produce a different aesthetic, but from some angles, it looks jet black and others, a darker brown, but regardless of the result, it’s permanent and does no come off unless you use an angle grinder!
