CNCROi.com has years of experience making custom stamps using a variety of materials, from rubber and acrylics to metal and wood.
When it comes to the acrylic we use for these custom clay embossing stamps, it’s quarter inch though we can and have made other stamps using thicker and even thinner materials.
Laser engraving acrylic is essentially vaporizing a petroleum product, so there is fire and gases released but those are quickly extinguished at CNCROi.com and the gases pulled out of our machine before they can become close to being a dangerous issue.
The design options for custom clay embossing stamps are endless, literally any mix of fonts and vector graphics work great, including signatures and other hand made details, as long as they are black and white vectors, they work!
Want your pottery stamps round? Not a problem, here’s a production run of a bunch of these.

CNCROi.com can also customize the shape of the custom clay embossing stamps, these are square but if you wanted them to be round or any other shape you can imagine, that isn’t an issue.
As each one of these custom clay embossing stamps are made one at a time, you can easily send us mix and match designs, each with different design parameters so you aren’t stuck having them all made at the same shape, size or design style.
To maintain accuracy during the production of these custom clay embossing stamps, they are all being laser engraved with the design submitted by the customer FIRST and then they will be cut out, this keeps everything together for as long as possible.
The laser engraving process for these custom clay embossing stamps removes roughly half of the quarter inch acrylic, thus the embossing is roughly 1/8″ high with the backing being another solid 1/8″.
If you wanted to embossing stamps for use on paper, CNCROi.com can make them for you just as easily as these thicker acrylic ones.

Laser cutting really releases a lot of energy from the acrylic in a very concentrated area, as a result, that’s when you see a flame shooting down under the acrylic, this is why I left masking on the backside so that the results don’t burn back into the acrylic.
For these specific custom clay embossing stamps, the acrylic used is blue, but if you wanted CNCROi.com to make these using a specific color, that’s also a possibility though we’ve found few of our customers care what the color of the stamp is as long as it works as mentioned.
There is a fine dust on all the finished custom clay embossing stamps, this is just powder from the engraving process of the acrylic itself, that’s easily removed with water and a brush.
How do different materials compare when it comes to making custom stamps, acrylic isn’t showcased because it doesn’t do well holding onto inks.

You can see the high quality of the embossing produced by CNCROi.com on this acrylic, the acrylic that’s left, which is raised, is also incredibly strong and the thickness of the walls can be easily modified in the design file if you wanted something with more strength for more specialized application.
When it comes to the repeatability of the engraving and cutting process used for these custom clay embossing stamps, it’s almost absolute, so if you needed a range of these stamps to be shared or used in a more high volume setting, the results would all be as identical as the design file provided to CNCROi.com.
The bright light you see during the cutting process especially is the reaction of the acrylic to the high energy laser beam shooting out of the head of the laser, this also occurs during the engraving process but as it isn’t as intense over a small surface area, you don’t see it.
Whether you need one or a thousand custom clay embossing stamps, CNCROi.com can produced them for you and ship them right to your door within days of the initial order.

Laser cutting acrylic is a dangerous process, plastic that’s put on fire is highly flammable as are the gasses.
You can now see the results of the laser engraving and cutting process for these custom clay embossing stamps, they are perfect to the design file provided by the CNCROi.com customer.
Looking at this at different angles you can see the consistency of the engraving, there is very little deviation in the height of the embossing itself and the wall thickness is also consistent throughout as it was in the design file.
Unlike stencils which need support material, when it comes to custom clay embossing stamps, anything works great as no bridges are required to hold things together.
