Custom Steel BBQ Grill: CNC Plasma Cut 304 Stainless Steel
Making a custom steel BBQ grill is a lot of fun, in my case, I choose to make mine using 304 stainless steel.

Why stainless steel? I want something that corrosion resistant and this is especially important with something that will be repeated heated and cooled.
With CNCROi.com your options are infinite regarding the design options for your own custom steel BBQ grill, any mix of fonts, design elements or even materials works fine for us.
Put another way, whatever you can imagine in shape, size or dimension, CNCROi.com can make your very own custom steel BBQ grill to that spec.

You can also easily paint mild steel any color you want, though I don’t recommend paint for a custom BBQ grill.
Do you want a large 4ft square half inch thick mild steel custom steel BBQ grill? No problem!
Do you want custom steel BBQ grill in the shape of an elephant with your name going across it using titanium, no problem either.
This infinite custom on-demand capability is only possible because CNCROi.com doesn’t mass produce anything in advance, if you want 10 grills the same, or 10 grills completely different, we cut those 10 grills regardless.
The only inventory we hold are the raw materials that will make-up your very own custom steel BBQ grill.
Are you not into grilling but want something that’s functional to use at the house? How about a mild steel (or stainless steel) towel holder customized to your needs?

CNCROi.com can also make multi-dimensional custom steel BBQ grills, meaning you aren’t stuck with only one “layer” but can have a custom grill with handles in other angles, or multiple grilling levels on one… it doesn’t need to be FLAT.
So what is the real limitation involved with CNCROi.com? It comes down to your timeline and budget, this is why I always ask for rough specs and your rough time and financial constraints as right away, it helps to narrow down the options from infinite to manageable.
Having CNCROi.com make a custom steel BBQ grill out of mild steel will cost less than stainless steel, the only issue you will have is having to constantly clean and maintain it, it’s a lot more work than going with stainless steel, at least in my opinion.
Also, if you live in a marine environment with salt, stainless steel is really your most cost-effective option as mild steel or even iron just will not last, you’ll have constant rusting issues to content with.
When it comes to custom production, you aren’t limited, if you wanted a weapon inspired design on your BBQ grill, we can make that too.

This is my first custom steel BBQ grill that I make for myself, I looked at all the options available to me and by far the best choice was, more expensive, stainless steel – I’m done living my life with grills that only last a few cookings over my fire pit before falling apart.
CNCROi.com‘s Hypertherm PowerMax85 is capable of cutting up to an inch and a half of mild steel, this custom steel BBQ grill made out of stainless steel is 11 ga, 1/8″ or 3.2 mm thick by comparison, so if you wanted something that gives you a workout to lift, we can make that for you.
Out of all the processes CNCROi.com employs at the shop, cutting stainless steel with my CNC plasma cutter is the most fun, these photos don’t do justice at all the awesome sparks and fires this thing creates while producing projects for customers across North America.
What are other applications that CNCROi.com employs our plasma cutter and stainless steel? There are a lot, but custom house number signs is a top one.

Do keep in mind that like our custom stencils, a custom steel BBQ grill has the same caveats when it comes to design, you want to make sure inner parts are held in place (notice the B and Q have support material in these photos)…
… and you want to make sure, especially for this application involving very high heat and cooling periods, that you make doubly sure you have A LOT of support material so that the metal will last a very long time.
Having very thin support material for this application just makes the metal fatigue a lot faster, as for cleaning, let fire do it, then remove from the fire pit to cool down, don’t drench your custom steel BBQ grill with water while it’s hot.
If you own a BBQ, firepit (like me) or just like having open fires and want something that will last a long time with your very own customization and branding, be sure to contact CNCROi.com.
Of course, if your design is too intricate for our CNC plasma cutter, we can also make your very own custom BBQ grill using the waterjet as well!

Are there any other design considerations to keep in mind when designing your very own custom steel BBQ grill?
I’d say the biggest is just to have fun with it, CNCROi.com won’t cut something that won’t work, the design will be reviewed to make sure any elements that won’t make for an optimal cooking surface, are redesigned to become so.
Of course, having your very own custom steel BBQ grill also looks great hung on a wall (make sure it has cooled down) inbetween your cooking stints.
After CNC plasma cutting the custom steel BBQ grill, it’s time to angle grind the surface of any impurities and to give it a great look, of course, if you have very hard cooked items on the surface, you can also use an angle grinder to remove it.
